Our name, Red Alder (red awl-der), is inspired by the resilient tree species native to the coast—known for its ability to work symbiotically with others and vastly improve its environment.

Jamie Caskey
Owner | Founder
Jamie, the founder of Red Alder Electric, brings over two decades of hands-on experience to his craft. He began his journey with Lions Electric in West Vancouver, quickly earning the respect of a notoriously demanding mentor. When the company eventually closed its doors, Jamie’s skill and integrity stood out—so much so that he was entrusted with the company’s clients and inspired to launch Red Alder Electric, which has continued to establish deep roots in high end residential work, with a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship.
Before making the switch to the trades, Jamie earned a forestry degree and spent years working in the woods – so it’s no surprise that Red Alder’s name reflects connection to BC’s landscapes. A dedicated mountain biker and skier, he’s called Squamish home since 2013 and doesn’t plan on leaving anytime soon.
